Humane Education Goals for SCHS

1) Advocation of spay/neuter programs. Education of youth and community on the importance of spaying/netuering their pets.

2) Education of youth and community about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

3) Education of our community about SCHS programs, needs and goals.

4) Encouragement of support from our community for the SCHS through participation, volunteer efforts, and financial aid.

5) Establishment of a local canine good citizen program to promote training for Pet Therapy dogs for use in local nursing homes, schools, and other locations.

These goals are met through a variety of activites. Humane education programs in the local schools, advertising of the Humane Society's programs on radio and cable television stations, and participation in local events are some of the venues . Resource materials include Delta & AKC Canine Good Citizen programs, Jr. ASCPA, PETA, 4H and scout programs.
