Our Crisis-Emergency program assists pet owners in emergency
situations who do not have the funds for immediate surgery or treatment
for their pet. SCHS evaluates each case with the owner and local
veterinarians.
First, SCHS gets an estimated cost of treatment for the pet from the
local veterinarians.
Next, an evaluation is performed on the owner's ability to pay expenses.
If an owner is unable to repay SCHS in full, we may ask the owner to
volunteer to help with fund raisers, community events or give a hand
at the SCHS Thrift Shop. Promissory notes & volunteer contracts are utilized to keep track of commitments.
